My Mission
You are seen. You are valued. you are remembered.
Photography, to me, has always been about more than making beautiful images. It's about helping people feel seen and valued. That mission doesn't begin with my clients, it starts at home.
The most important photographs of my life is are the images I've taken of my children. Our favorites from their lives are the main art on the walls of our home. That's a choice I've made not just because I love those photographs. It's a conscious effort to show my children that they are seen, that they matter, and that they are beautiful works of art - just as they are. I want them to grow up knowing that their stories are worth telling and that they belong.
I wish every child could grow up feeling that way. When children grow up seeing their lives reflected on the walls around them, they begin to understand something powerful: they are an integral part of a story that matters. I want everyone to feel that - no matter their age. That desire for all people to feel part of a story worth telling shapes the way I approach every photograph I take. When someone steps in front of my camera, they are not stepping into my moment - they are inviting me into theirs. My role is to recognize the gift of that invitation. Then I simply exist alongside them and observe their story through my own eyes. I bring my experience, understanding of light, and eye for genuine moments, and use those tools to capture the story unfolding in front of me. The real beauty is already there. My job is to recognize it and preserve it.
Life is complicated, and every person carries experiences that have shaped who they are. Approaching people with kindness, compassion, and curiosity creates space for them to relax and show their real selves. When someone feels comfortable enough to be exactly who they are, their humanity shines through. Honoring that humanity is the heart of my mission.
I want to see and honor these moments not only for the present - the children who will see their faces as they look up at their walls, the actor who wants to put her best self forward, or the grandparents who have watched their children's children grow year by year. I want to preserve these moments for the people yet to come. Photography has a profound power to connect us across generations. When we look at photographs of the people who came before us, they stop feeling like distant names on a family tree and begin to feel real. We see the expressions on their faces, the way they held their children, and the small gestures that reveal their personalities. Photographs give us windows into who people were and help us understand where we come from. I want to create the kind of photographs that will make the generations that come after us smile at the connection they feel to the ones that came before them.
Work like that is more than work. It's a calling - my calling. My hope is that the work I create leaves the world a little better than I found it. Not simply because the photographs are beautiful, but because the people within them feel honored, valued, and remembered. Every single person deserves that.
