It’s been a year. A year since I walked into the ER and my life changed forever. Let’s rewind. I started that day excited. Today is the anniversary of Toby and my first date back together. We dated in high school, but spent a large part of college apart. Despite the distance of those years,...
I’m Annie -
... mama of two amazing kids.
... wife to the most amazing man I’ve ever met.
... photographer of babies and love stories.
... lover of books, photos, writing, traveling, movies, music, and cooking.
... survivor of cancer.
... dreamer of big dreams.
... child of God.My favorite thing in the entire world is to savor the everyday moments of life - all of them. That means embracing joy, heartache, change, fear, dreams, loss, success, laughter, and everything in between. And I do embrace it. With my whole heart.
Before I got sick, I was a self-proclaimed planner who lived her life "by the book". Now I take every opportunity I have to simply live every day - no matter what it brings - and to live it with gratitude. It's that living and those real moments that I want to share with you.

“… [today I want to talk to you about] life plans. How we all make them. And how we hope that our kids make good, smart, safe plans of their own. But if we’re really honest with ourselves, most of the time our plans don’t work out as we’d hoped. So instead of asking our young people – what are your plans? What do you plan to do with your life? Maybe we should tell them this – plan to be surprised.”
