101 in 1001

Here’s my list – 101 things to accomplish in the next 1001 days! As of December 31, 2012, I hope to have everything crossed off of the list!:)

  1. be “in remission” (completed 4.15.10)
  2. take a short weekend trip with Toby that doesn’t involve photographing a client (completed 2.18.11)
  3. see Coldplay in concert again
  4. make bedtime stories a nightly ritual
  5. back up personal photos (completed 4.7.11)
  6. update our Varland Photography branding (completed 4.16.10)
  7. put together a book based on photos together and get it printed
  8. take a family vacation
  9. fix up our “gardens”
  10. be published in print (completed 12.2.10)
  11. spend time taking pictures with my sister-in-law, Kelly (completed 7.26.10)
  12. invest in a treadmill (completed 6.3.10)
  13. shoot a wedding at the Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption in Covington (completed 9.18.10)
  14. make a difference in the life of someone affected by cancer (completed 1.18.11)
  15. have a date night
  16. start posts for “Wordless Wednesdays” (completed 4.7.10)
  17. draft a will with Toby
  18. see a broadway show (2.26.11)
  19. organize, label, and pack up the kids’ old clothes
  20. join Canon Professional Services
  21. take a family picture at least once every two months
  22. take the kids to a movie (completed 7.7.10 – Toy Story 3)
  23. get a real haircut
  24. paint Emma’s room (completed 5.6.10)
  25. paint Noah’s room (completed 5.7.10)
  26. attend a photography workshop or the WPPI convention with Toby (completed 9.14.10)
  27. learn to sew (even if it’s just the basics on a sewing machine)
  28. take the kids to the children’s museum
  29. upgrade to a more functional camera bag (completed 12.22.10 – Thanks to my mom and dad!)
  30. organize the papers/poems/stories I’ve written
  31. get in better shape
  32. hear Emma read a book aloud
  33. update my address book
  34. paint a picture on a large canvas
  35. get ShootQ set up (11.12.10 – Thanks, Toby!)
  36. catch up on my Virtus “training”
  37. round out our lens collection with a 24mm, 85mm, and another 70-200mm (1/3 – as of 7.13.10)
  38. set up Quicken or something similar
  39. spend a day biking with Toby
  40. read Les Miserables
  41. update the “about us” section of our website
  42. potty train Emma
  43. potty train Noah
  44. participate in I ♥ Faces (completed 4.27.10)
  45. finish our bedroom
  46. finish our brochure for wedding clients
  47. record a CD (I’d like to do this for real someday, but for the next 1001 days, I’d settle for another homemade venture…)
  48. move Noah out of his crib and into a bed (completed 8.18.10)
  49. set up a “death folder” (like in How I Met Your Mother)
  50. get back to volunteering (completed 10.28.10)
  51. upgrade the wedding albums we offer (completed 4.20.10)
  52. send out Christmas cards

  72. take Emma to her first day of preschool (completed 9.7.10)
  73. take Noah to his first day of preschool
  74. organize the basement
  75. upgrade at least one of our camera bodies to one with a better focus system
  76. see a performance of Handel’s Messiah
  77. have new headshots taken
  78. organize important papers
  79. find out if we can have more kids
  80. re-read the last Harry Potter book before the movies come out (I didn’t make it by the first movie, but I did finish it soon after… completed 11.30.10)
  81. use a ponytail holder in my own hair (not exactly what I meant, but technically completed 9.27.10)

  83. design an album/book about my cancer experience
  84. get our family’s first swing set
  85. buy a blender that works – even with ice (completed 8.12.10)
  86. purchase and implement new album templates
  87. complete my ABC photography project

  90. convert our wedding video to a DVD
